Cool breath of shade and delight of all creation, we crave the respite of your holy way. Whether the path is wide or narrow, dotted with blooms or bumpy with stones,
we discover the gifts that await us in each nook and cranny;
the carefully crafted petal and leaf,
fragrances sweet and pungent,
silence punctuated with symphony and laughter…
There in the twinkle of the stars you reveal your love,
cast wide across the heavens and reflected on the dancing surface of the seas.
You capture our hearts and our imaginations
through the stories woven among the trees
and carried on the wings of eagles.
Our song is filled with the refrain of your desire,
the joy of your heart,
and the fullness of your abundant light.
Guide our steps, quicken our courage,
bolster our faith, for the sake of all who love you.
For the blessing that is this day,
we give thanks, and pray.
