The sun is setting earlier, the hours feel shorter.

So many bulletins and services and gatherings and rehearsals and events to prepare and plan and oh, attend.

The days are surely coming….

The pressure amps up and the voicemails are full.

The traditions and the meals and the precious family moments.

The days are surely coming….

And then there’s the news, and the community needs, and the collapse of, I don’t know, reliability and truth and reality.

The days are surely coming…

So, God, rise something up.

Please, right now.

With power and grace, with justice and love.

Fix this mess of greed and corruption.

Fix my need to achieve and succeed and do it all.

Fix our busyness.

(Fix this silly newsletter article, too.)

The days are surely coming…

Find that day, find some moment,

To surprise us again,

Showing up with your wild love and radical presence.

Because our days are a mess.

And we need your rising, your rumbling, your shaking, your borning,

In these days,

And always.

Amen.
