The morning light is dull
the sky is gray
land faded yellows
Winter is here, but not really.
The uncommonly warm temps
in my part of the world
disconcerting.
This decade comes to an end.
A decade of change and challenge
A decade of hope and joy
A decade that ends in a state
I never imagined…
global politics
global climate
global economy
contrasted with
advances for women
advances for LGBTQ
increased awareness of
harm done and need for
reconciliation from
patriarchy
colonialism
racism
xenophobia
homophobia
classism
elitism
A decade ends.
A new one begins.
What will this one bring?
I wonder.
God help us.
Amen.
