Inspired by Psalm 13

How long, O God
Will I have to stay in this house.
How long will this quarantine keep me from hugs of friends
and the embrace of my mom.

How long, O God
will I have to worry about catching this disease
and concern myself of how severe it will capture my lungs?
How long, O God will I worry about my loved ones catching it
and fret over their demise?

How long, O God
will I be away from work?
And how long, O God,
will my friends be out of employment?

How long, O God
will the homeless go without their meals
and the sick must wait for their health care?

How long, O God
must I put off my plans-
Oh, how first world that sounds!
Yet the grief has overtaken my heart.

How long, O God
must I miss my “normal” life…
And will it ever get back to normal?

How long, O God?
