Son of God, come quickly to the aid
of your people.
Come quickly to places of grief and despair.
Come quickly to places devoid of the usual
life-giving constructs.
Come quickly to places of hopelessness
and fear.

Healer of all, come quickly to the aid
of your people.
Come quickly to bring comfort to the
weary and the isolated.
Come quickly to shine your light
in the darkness.
Come quickly, we pray,
and bring relief.

Show compassion, Lord, on those whose lives
and those whose livelihoods
hang in the balance.
Show mercy on those who follow you,
and who are doing their best to understand
the new things you are doing in our midst.
Grant patience to family members
who may be distraught and at their wits end,
who cannot understand what is happening
or why,
and struggle to care for one another
through their own distress.

Unbind our hearts, O Lord,
and free us to be the compassionate
and caring people you have called us to be.
Help us to see
what we can only see
when we learn to trust
in you.
