Holy God-
Into your hands I commit the spirit of Ahmaud Arbery, that he may rest in peace and rise in power.

Into your hands I commit the spirits of his family, his friends, his community, and all who knew him and loved him.
Into your hands I commit the spirits of the people who might have known him, whose lives were meant to intersect with his, who were going to be touched by his work and his play.
Into your hands I commit the spirits those whose already broken hearts shatter once more at the reality of racism and hatred in this country, in this world, in this life.
Into your hands I commit the spirits who have begun to feel it may be easier to just swim down than to try to change systems of injustice and oppression.
Into your hands I commit the spirits of all those who are determined to bring change to the habits of inequity, hatred, and racism across the world.
In your mercy, care for these souls and bring about the kin-dom that you have promised and that we need. Into your hands I commit my spirit to be part of your work on earth.
Amen.
