If you’re looking for some words for worship, here are some you are welcome to use or to adapt, or simply spring from as you write your own. If you use them in print, please credit the author and RevGalBlogPals.org. If you use them in a video or audio service, there’s no need to verbally credit, though if you have a chance to add source info to the video description, that would be great. As always, the usual music rules apply — these pieces are embedded here for inspiration, if you want to use the video in a video of your own, you need the permissions and licenses, etc.
If you have written any words for worship that you are willing to share, please email us at revgalblogpals at gmail dot com!
Call to Worship by Teri Peterson
Wherever you are ….
Whoever you are….
Whatever you’ve done….
Whenever you’re joining…
Christ calls us from north and south, east and west.
From the comfort of pyjamas,
or the busy-ness of the kitchen,
in the morning and in the evening,
the Spirit enables our praise.
Let us worship God.
Prayer for the Church by Teri Peterson
Lord Jesus Christ,
we admit that we have not always been eager
to follow you into uncharted territory,
yet now we are impatient
and do not want to wait to find out
where you are leading us next.
You call us,
you commission us,
you empower us to be your witnesses.
We offer our prayers for your Church,
striving to be faithful in the places you have planted us,
even when we are apart,
even behind closed doors,
even in virtual space.
Your power of resurrection life is greater than we can fathom,
and we pray that it would be visible through and among us,
even in these days,
even in our scattered places,
even in the midst of the mystery.
In the power of the Holy Spirit, re-make your Body once again.
Amen.
Thanksgiving for Baptism by Julia Seymour
Water, water everywhere, even some to drink.
Water, water everywhere, in every tub and sink.
Water for all life on earth,
Water as witness to every new birth.
Water, longed for in deserts so bare.
Water, a gift so precious to share.
Water in bottles, in cups, in glasses,
Water washes our hands and our lashes.
Water carries God’s promise forever,
That nothing can us, from God’s love, sever.
Water, in baptism, carries the hope.
Water, in baptism, gets us cleaner than soap.
Water- tears, rain, ocean, river, or puddle,
Water makes us a family with whom no one can muddle.
Water, for this gift, O God, we have much gratitude.
Water, wash us again, bring us into right attitude.
