Is this really what it has come to?
Is my raging in the street
my disbelief at bad behaviour
my shock at the lack of integrity
my anger at the gross misbehaviour
just a blind rattling?81162ADA-4B50-4BCC-9866-9AC9E031181F

Is this what it has come to?
The grieving parents
the lonely spouse
the orphaned children
the crushed loved ones
overlooked and disrespected.

Help me to see the good…
the kindness
the sacrifices
the dogged determination to see it through
whatever it takes
until this time is through.

May I display…
humility at grace outpoured
compassion for grief and despair
courage to speak out
determination stay the course
to be the church
to walk in the shadow of the One who showed
Humility, compassion, grace, courage, determination
to the church he visioned: people of love
(not buildings)

May I
May we
today
just for this day
So be it

And turn off the tv for your own sanity, Julie. Seriously.
