Infinite God, who still numbers the hairs on our heads,
and who counts our value, one by one,
we call out to you today the names of the people who touch our lives.
Strangers, who pursue justice and force change.
Beloved aunties and grandparents,
neighbors, now seen at the end of the driveway,
and co-workers visible on a screen.
For the power we have to touch one another,
to enlarge each other’s lives, reveal necessary lessons
and add the balm of love, we give thanks,
with our own sighs, too deep for words. Amen.
