O God, the proud in armies rise,
And men of guile profound,
Who have not thee before their eyes,
Attempt my soul to wound. – Christopher Smart
Holy and Gracious God,

More than the prayers of my own privileged heart, I beg you to listen to the prayers of your children who will be intentionally excluded, shamed, harmed, harassed, oppressed, and killed today by those who are too proud to learn to do better.
In deep earnestness, I beg you, Knower of All Things, to be an anchor for those adrift in pain, a fence for those surrounded by evil, and a shelter for those who wander in hopelessness.
I throw myself down in your presence to ask for all this and so much more.
I know that you can do this, God, for nothing is beyond you!
Hear my prayer and, in your mercy, intercede.
Amen.
