Wednesday Prayer

God on this day, we invoke the spirit of our ancestor, the Apostle Mary Magdalene

Grant us the audacity of Mary Magdalene to break gender roles and dismiss stereotypes

Grant us the confidence of Mary Magdalene to step into spaces, work, and movements—sometimes uninvited, often unwanted, always unapologetic

Grant us the courage of Mary Magdalene to cross barriers and borders that keep us separated, fearful and hate filled

Grant us the empathy of Mary Magdalene in the presence of pain and suffering

Grant us the passion of Mary Magdalene as we pour out our gifts in the work of kin-dom building with generosity, creativity and focused abandon

Grant us the love of Mary Magdalene which can sometimes be messy and fleshy, refuses to be silenced, will not be contained, rejects death, and proclaims joy and liberation into the world

Mary Magdalene, we say her name
