Dear God,

there are no words for the distress of the people of Beirut,

or to explain the gasping breath of the COVID patient,

the anguish of the unemployed,

the panic of parents who have to teach their kids and also work,

the pain of racism, and our various disdains for one another.

But you know all this.

This would be the moment for a big, splashy triumph,

if you have it in you.  Amen.
