God of liberation-

I am not alone in joining in the saintly chorus of “How long?”

How long will tyranny be permitted to run rampant, lying about patriotism and freedom?
How long will some claim to be of your people in word, but not deed?
How long will we struggle for truth, while some among us are crushed under the weight of oppression that will not relent without force?
How long will untruths be permitted to masquerade and parade as standards, visions, and expectations?
How long will a dismissive sneer take the place of genuine regret and reparations?

My clothing is torn. My face is tear-streaked. My breath is ragged.
I am struggling, Lord, struggling.

And the echo I hear from the Spirit says,
“Indeed, child, how long?”
