Another Monday dawns, and in my corner of the world the wind is gusting and sending thin sheets of rain across the pavements. Orange and red leaves have appeared over night on the trees, and the end of September approaches.
Lord, we come to you both weary and ready to begin another week. Strengthen and uphold us, give fresh energy to the tired, patience to the worn down, and peace to the worried.
Send us out Lord, equipped with umbrellas or sandals, sweaters or sunglasses. See the sign of your divinity, grafted by you into our souls at our baptisms, sparkling back at you across this globe as we trudge, or skip, or run toward a world in need of your good news.
