Holy Mary, Mother of God, intercede for us.
We begin a new week; one possibly fraught with anxiety and violence. Calm our rattled nerves, give us the courage to break our weapons over our knees and vow peace instead.
We begin a new week; help us to choose wisely in words and action, help us to understand that both are needed.

Give us the courage to dream of the world God intended and the fortitude to realize it, each one of us, in our own little corners of the globe.
We remember today Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. May his legacy run swift over our lands, may we give our own hands to bend that moral arc at last toward justice.
We ask all this in the name of your Jesus. We know that the kind of courage you had will need to grow in our own hearts.
Plant the seed Mother, water it with your tears, make it grow. Help us to endure the breaking and the tearing as new life bursts through.
Amen.
