Lord, this has been an unusual week
And the oddness continues
With posts vanishing into the ether
Even though I know they were written
And Bernie in his mittens
Appearing in the strangest places
And Twitter and Facebook
Making unexpected changes
But through it all
One thing is constant
One thing never changes
And for that I am grateful
For your love I am grateful
For your presence I am grateful
For you I am grateful
Every single day
And on this day
As I gaze out at the
Freshly fallen snow
Sparkling in the bright sunshine
I see you everywhere
In the shadows sharply defined
In the clouds drifting overhead
In the bare tree branches
And on this day
I find new hope
In so many places
In the mitten memes
In a child’s laughter
In hot coffee
And toasted bagels
And in the dawn of a new day
Amen
The Reverend Doctor Katherine Burgess, a second-career minister, serves two congregations in the province of Québec, Canada. Right now, she is leading worship on-line because the area in which she lives has been moved to a Red Zone. She is one of the regular contributors to the Saturday Prayer for RevGals. She lives with her husband, Keith, a dog named Bella, and a cat named OhchoCat. She shares daily prayers on her Facebook page. She also has a blog, but rarely manages to post anything in it.
RevGalBlogPals encourages you to share our blog posts via email or social media. We do not grant permission to cut-and-paste prayers and articles without a link back to the specific post. For permission to use material in paper publications, please email revgalblogpals at gmail dot com.
I could amplify the opening stanza of your prayer with all the permutations of signing up for a covid vaccine! A complicated gift.
