I don’t know if I fear the Lord as I ought,
But I am in awe of the majesty of creation.
I don’t know if I fear the Lord as I ought,
But I tremble in the presence of grace.
I don’t know if I fear the Lord as I ought,
But I step out firmly in trust on divine promises.
I don’t know if I fear the Lord as I ought,
But I rest in consolation of eternal love.
I don’t know if I fear the Lord as I ought,
But I respect that true judgment belongs to God alone.
I don’t know if I fear the Lord as I ought,
But I sag under the relief of forgiveness.
I don’t know if I fear the Lord as I ought,
But I believe my doubts will not be punished.
I pray that, for me, for others, this may be the beginning of wisdom.
Amen.

Thank you for capturing this amazing prayer. It really helps me make it through the day and get ready for preaching Psalm 111 on Sunday.
