There are things that happen that are unthinkable, but not unimaginable.
We are able to imagine them, but we push them away because we do not want to think about them.
What is unimaginable is living after the unthinkable.
Holy and merciful God, we pray with broken hearts for all who are living- breath by breath- after the unthinkable.
Each step, each second is into an unimagined future.
We demand your presence in clear and tangible ways in this time.
The God who saw Hagar in her pain, who grieved with Bathsheba, who appointed someone to comfort Jesus’ mother, who wept for Lazarus.
We need you now and we cannot accept the Perceived Absence.
We must have your Real Presence.
Make it so.
