Bright, surprising God, we are still rejoicing in the glory of Easter.

the mystery of Jesus walking and talking and eating among us again,

showing us his scars like a familiar friend,

reminding us not to hold on to him.

We never can, of course, and yet we would love to keep him fresh and present,

right nearby,

telling his stories and eating our bread and making us laugh.

For these Jesus-filled days, we give you thanks,

and pray that we might make him present for others,

as we hold their hands and share our scars and eat our bread together.

In the name of the Risen One, Amen.
