We need the reminder.

With violence and death and hurt and harm
all around
With struggle and suffering and worry and fear
all around
With confusion and corruption and misinformation and manipulation
all around
With the very worst of us bringing out the very worst of all of us
all the time…

We need the reminder,
Of the HOPE to which we have been called.

So send the spirit of wisdom
all around
And send the spirit of revelation
all around
Enlighten the eyes of our hearts,
Help us to know your power,
Your immeasurable greatness,
And remind us of the HOPE to which you have called us.

A hope that heals.
A hope that notices suffering.
A hope that welcomes outcasts.
A hope that restores and repairs.
A hope that tosses tables.
A hope that speaks truth to power.
A hope that cannot be squashed.
A hope that rises again.
A hope that shows up and endures and inspires and challenges and renews.

Remind us again of this HOPE that you have called us to…. because we need your hope right now, O God.
We need that HOPE right now.

Amen.
