Holy One, creator of all that is, ever has been, ever will be, I offer to you this day, a moment of gratitude. Like the converging currents at the southern most tip of Canada, as waters from the western part of Lake Erie collide with waters from the east, where great beauty is also dangerous, a mirror of life and the creation you have made. I give thanks for the year that has passed, for the lessons learned, the currents navigated. I grieve the deaths, the losses, the failures (although these too are opportunities for growth and grace). As June begins, and western hemisphere enters summer, as baby animals leave their winter nests and explore the world, as I take a moment to catch my breath, I pause and wonder. Wonder at the beauty, wonder at what next, wonder. Life is never easy, it seems, yet it is always a gift. Amen.
