God, it seems so clear that you must love diversity.

You give us a thousand kinds of cacti,

fish of all sizes and shapes, bugs of every fantastical design…

why would we ever think it should be different with people?

Why did we ever think we shouldn’t take pride in who we are?

Not the pride that demean,

but genuine pride in being created by you,

all of us made in your divine image.

This month and beyond, we pray, teach us the joy of pride

in who we are, and who you made us to be,

in what we teach the world, and in what we learn from it,

in how we bless others as we live our truth.

In the name of the Jesus who knew how to claim his place as your divine creation, Amen.
