Every week,
there is a moment when I look out,
over the pews,
through the camera lens,
and to all who can hear my voice,
to all who can see my face,
to all who can feel my energy,
to all who can somehow in someway sorta kinda receive this message,
I remind them and me and us,
That we are loved.
You are loved.
I am loved.
We are loved.
We are so ridiculously and wonderfully loved.
We are so completely loved by a God who knows us and inspires us and welcomes us and wants good things in this world and good things for us.
And every week, I really mean it.
And every week, I really hope for it.
And every week, I really wonder…
who we might be,
if we could all,
really believe it.
Holy God, help us to believe,
help us to feel,
help us to understand,
help us to know,
how much you love us.
Amen.
