God, Creator, Love Divine, help us in these troubled times to be courageous.
This world, the beautiful planet that you birthed, that some think of as Your body (thank you Sallie McFague), is in peril because humankind has not cared for it. Help us to be the people you longed for when you made us. Help us be, as the prayer I am praying this summer from the Celtic tradition, bone of your bone, flesh of your flesh, to care for this earth and the creatures and people who reside on it.
I pray that we can turn the tide on climate change, the climate crisis. I pray that we can dismantle the systems of oppression that privilege one group of people over another. I pray that our children can live long and healthy lives because we have turned the tide on these prevailing problems of our own making.
Guide us, inspire us, sustain us, please don’t give up on us. Amen.
