Dear God,

We are Covid-weary.
We are still being vigilant,
abiding by guidelines,
making careful decisions,
queuing for tests,
waiting for vaccine appointments,
washing our hands
wearing our masks.

Today we pray for those
who must persevere.
For the public health officials
managing and evaluation and synthesising all the information,
for the scientists still researching,
the medical staff still treating,
the supply chain staff still managing,
the supermarket workers,
and pharmacists,
and fuel truck drivers.
For parents working at home
and caregiving
and juggling all the things.
For the students studying
to equip them
for a future that seems less and less certain.
For their teachers and professors.

We pray for those with long Covid,
those mourning the loss of loved ones,
for all who carry in their bodies and minds
the impact of this virus.

Dear God,
sustain us in our weariness,
resource us,
uphold us
and teach us to live
with love for our neighbours.
In Jesus name,
Amen.
