Laboring God – we thank you for September clouds, autumnal light, cooler days, the great resounding chorus of your creation.
Help us to hear your call – to labor with you in your eternal work, work that is grounded in love for your creatures.

Send us and call us to all who need aid and succor. May we bring them practical things and your really good news, wrapped up in packages of laundry soap and canned goods, QR code donations and abundant welcome.
Turn up the dial a bit on our courage, that we may boldly proclaim your love in how we treat one another, that we may labor together to usher in your kingdom.
Amen.

Thank you, Alice. As the child of a labor organizer and partner of a union steward, I am so deeply moved by the (US) holiday and it’s honoring of those who work reflecting the essential work of God’s creation.
