Great Physician,
hear our prayers for healers
who offer their gifts
unselfishly
for the benefit
of all.
For doctors and nurses
spending endless hours
at the bedside
of the suffering
and dying
around the world,
we ask your blessing.
For homeopathic practitioners
working diligently
to strengthen the immune systems
of their patients
through a global pandemic,
we give you thanks.
For the scientists whose knowledge
and inspiration
have borne for us
opportunities
for loving our neighbors
as we love ourselves,
we rejoice!
For the mental health professionals
who offer balm
to weary souls
in person
or through their well-thought words
of comfort and guidance
in interviews and articles,
we are grateful.
For spiritual guides
who welcome
and listen
and anoint
and feed with holy bread and living water
and lift up holy hands in prayer,
we seek your enduring presence.
For all in need of healing —
body,
mind,
emotion,
and spirit —
we ask your intervention
through those whom you have called,
equipped,
and sent
in Jesus’ name
and by the power of the Holy Spirit.
Season them with kindness
and compassion
that all who are broken
may be made whole.
