I’m late! I’m late, for a very important date! No time to say, “Hello.” Goodbye! I’m late, I’m late, I’m late, I’m late, I’m late!
Dear Lord, I hate being late. It makes me anxious and fretful. I worry that I’ve been a disappointment. It’s particularly awful when it feels public or professional. God, when things don’t go as expected; when the flow of traffic is not going my way; when interruptions overwhelm me- help me to take a breath. Not a break, but a long deep breath. Calm my spirit so that I can move forward rather than worrying over the clock or the calendar. I don’t want to make tardiness a habit, but God, help me to see that sometimes being late just goes along with being human.
Amen! Fantastic!
