Plan B, please. Or Plan C or D or E…

Holy One,

When I dream of the perfect Christmas holiday but my life isn’t a TV movie, let me accept reality with humor and grace. Remind me when I over-plan and under-prepare that my work isn’t about perfection. And when my memories of Christmases past are changed because of pandemic realities, point me back to the story of Jesus and Mary and shepherds and angels and a mighty Sign in the sky.

Creator of all,

I know this season of Hope and Peace and Joy and Love is about…

…listening and loving

…longing and waiting

…dreaming and wondering

…giving and receiving

…worshipping and praising

I raise my voice to sing my Alleluias to worship the Christ,

Glory to God in highest heaven, and peace on earth, peace to those on whom God’s favor rests.

Amen.
