Dear God,
You know God,
we are entering into that nebulous period
of not quite Pentecost;
and I think about this moment in time;
As we all are waiting for
the Holy Spirit.
(And everything else)
…..
Have you seen her God?
Does she look like a Dove?
Or a Pigeon?
Or a Wild Goose?
…..
Is she majestic?
Or wise?
Or comfortably worn out?
….
Jesus Christ,
I’m praying to you,
as a not quite feeling Pentecostal Person
over here
Trying to be a part of the Resurrection–
but sometimes just thinking about how
Easter just happened,
and it feels an era ago
and Pentecost feels
wayyyyy to far away
and we humans always seem to be stuck in-between
…..
Send us your Strength Jesus,
Send us your Holy Spirit
Your Sweet Winds,
Your Peace Beyond Understanding
and Perhaps, a little bit of Pentecost
For us waiting in the wings, we pray.
Amen.
