God who spins the planet, turning one month into the next,

we come to you in awe, and hope, and slight worry,

wondering what this month, and this day, and this hour will hold.

As this new month begins,

we pray for the war-weary and those in danger,

for the grieving and those in pain,

for the hurting and for those who cause pain.

Spin our hearts to you again, we pray,

and lift our hearts in awe and peace.  Amen.
