Wild, free Spirit, what did you do the day after Pentecost?

Did you curl up and rest?  Did the wind still?

Or did you take it easy, sending small breaths of peace out into the world?

Or, were you blowing somewhere else, unnoticed?  Did someone miss their own Pentecost?

On this day, Mothering Spirit, we give praise for Pentecost energy,

and pray for it to continue to blow, to burst into fire, to move us out of our upper rooms.

We seek your soft winds in our exhausted places,

and your gusts of truth for our fears, our limitations, the lies we tell ourselves and the world.

Blow us and all your people into rest and freedom, wholeness and joy.

Lift our faces to your transforming wind, we pray,

in the name of our sister Ruach, Amen.

  1. Amen. Thank you so much for the visit of the imagination you invited me to take to so many who I am guessing need to be re-lit like we all do so often.
