Dear God,

For the sake of our children, all children

May all love be acceptable and a source of joy and pride for more than one month a year

May freedom be more than a one-day holiday for some, while many remain colonized, enslaved, hidden

May the Church reclaim our role to accompany one another, disrupt injustice, and build the beloved community no matter the risk because what’s at stake is so much greater

For the sake of our children, all children

May we render our hearts open as we engage our whole selves in making sure each child lives in the promise of God’s abundance, knowing God’s grace and love, embodying it as only they can

Ushering in God’s kingdom with their brilliance, wonder, and power

May it be so.

Selah, Amen, and Ashé
