We come into the land you have given us:
a fertile field for our hearts and minds
a gentle valley for our spirits
a homeland fit for your praise
an inheritance set aside for us.

We plant this place with seeds you provide:
goodness even in response to evil,
witness where we find injustice,
forgiveness seventy times seven,
faith in the face of every test.

We offer back to you the first fruits of our lives:
our commitment to your way,
our willingness to work,
our thoughtfulness toward others,
our persistence in prayer.

We trust you are with us whether the view is
a land full of promise,
a cul-de-sac of confusion,
a wasteland to cultivate,
or a wilderness to wander.

Holy One, guide us on our way.
