Holy and generous Christ-

In your harrowing of hell, remember your children who are between hosanna and hallelujah.

Recall the family and friends of Stephon Clark. Have mercy on his children.

Grasp firmly the wrists of those who have received a diagnosis of death for this life.

Tighten your hold on those whose work and words oppose your love and grace.

Pour out mercy on those who have been in the valley of the shadow for so long, they have forgotten what mountaintops are.

Remember your disciples who, in the midst of doubt, frustration, and fear, are still giving voice to the story of the resurrection, the power of the empty cross and tomb, and the hope of the presence of the Spirit.

We wait. We wait. We wait.

We wait for you to harrow our hell.

Lord, have mercy.

Christ, have mercy.

Lord, have mercy.
