It’s official. If you’re in the Northern Hemisphere, you are experiencing winter. SO… tell us:

1. Winter: What do you think about it in general? Do you love it? Hate it? Or say, “meh – it’s just another season!”

2. Footwear: Show us or tell us about your favorite winter shoes/boots.

3. Discuss: Pedicures in winter – necessity or silly?

4. Toasty toes: Whether you knit your own or buy them, tell us what socks keep your feet toasty warm!

5. Driving me crazy: What do you wish the drivers around you would do to make travel during the winter months a little less nutty?

BONUS: What’s the weather like out there? Share a picture so we can shiver or be jealous!

  1. Taking a breath betw. memorial arrangements, spiritual direction, and general craziness to answer this:

    1. Winter– I liked it more when I didn’t have children. So much to worry about now… like car sliding, getting across ice with two toddlers (hold my hand, mommy!), defrosting car while toddlers are upstairs eating cheerios, trying to get coats on and keeping track of mittens…etc. But I love the stark beauty of winter…and snow in my hair

    2. I have one pair of clunky boots that are warm and keep my feet dry

    3. I have never had a pedicure in my life, winter or summer….

    4. Whatever is clean and fits.

    5. I wish people would be more considerate of pedestrians and sign holders and not splash the dirty gray mix from tires all over us. I also wish that people would be willing and able to clear sidewalks so that we don’t have to walk in the street….or navigate around huge mounds with stroller…groceries or whatever.

  2. Friday Five for me
    1. I love winter, and I live in Canada so it is a good thing. I love being snowed in and watching the snow blowing outside. My favorite activity is cross country skiing which requires snow. And I think it is really beautiful. I like a moderate winter though – too many sub zero temperatures chills me to the bone…
    2. I have different boots for different activities – fashion boots for work, little boots for city walking and insulated boots for snow trekking.
    3. No time for pedicures
    4. socks with merino wool to keep the toes toasty
    5. I wish drivers would have snow tires so they stopped slipping all over the place as well as drive to the weather – I am amazed how many drivers still speed when there is little of no visibility.
