My soul waits for the Lord
More than watchers for the morning
more than watchers for the morning
I’m keeping vigil in time of illness, and I’m grateful to know I’m not alone
There are watchers all over this hospital, all over every place of healing
In schools, churches, on the streets
Watching out for one another
Waiting in prayer
It’s a daily thing.
May we always remember, even when we don’t have a loved one
or a name
or a news story
that our prayers are needed
that vigil can be only a moment
That we are not alone.
