Each Friday, we highlight writing from across our RevGalBlogPals community, and today I notice how many of us are counting. Maybe I notice it because I’m counting, too: the oldest departs for his first year of college in 24 days, I’ve just marked my calendar with 18 soccer games for the youngest, and a writing project’s deadline is approaching in 45 days.
Probably I should work on counting breaths.
Check out the counting and measuring and numeric reflecting across our blogging community:
+ Derek is measuring 83 times and cutting 2 times on his blog, Tales from the Great Adventure. Derek’s project is garage storage, but if you’re not undertaking a similar project, you’ll still appreciate his reflection on the parallels between the garage and our spiritual lives.
+ 2 cups ripe strawberries and 2 tablespoons chia seed are among the measurements you’ll need for no-cook strawberry chia seed jam posted by Susan at Fruitful Words. As a bonus, there’s also a link to low-carb pumpkin pancakes that will pair well with the jam.
+ Robin is counting to 64 for her birthday — Happy birthday, Robin! — with 4 things in particular that she’s looking forward to. Stop by her blog with your birthday greetings.
+ Jeff’s July 2017 Pop Culture Roundup highlights 7 books, movies, musicians, Netflix series, etc. Check out his blogpost and let him know what you’ve been reading & watching & listening to this month.
+ At Sacraparental, Thalia crunched numbers based on her review of 12 New Zealand picture books: 0 of the 12 books star little girls and only 4 of the books have female characters. You’ll want to read the whole blogpost, which includes great reading suggestions for children.
What are you counting these days, friends? Share your own numbers in the comments or post a link to your own blog & writing.
